Statement of Beliefs

  1. The Bible is the Word of God, given by divine inspiration and is the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Tim 3:16-17, 2 Pet 1:20-21).

  2. There is only one true God, creator of everything and sovereign over all and who exists as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit (Gen 1:1,26; Isaiah 43:10); (Matt 28:19).

  3. In the person and work of:

The Father, who loves us, gave His Son for us and desires to adopt us as His children (John 3:16; Rom 8:15; Gal 4:5; Eph 1:5).

The Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man; His pre-existence, virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven and exaltation, and in His personal and visible return in power and glory. (John 1:1-13; Matt 1:23; Heb 4:15; Rom 5:8-10; Eph 1:20-21; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thess 4:16-18).

The Holy Spirit, the Gift of the Father to expose our sin, renew our hearts, empower our lives and reveal Christ in us. (John 3:5-6, 16:8; Acts 1:4,8, 2:38-39; Ezekiel 11:19; Gal 5:22-23; 1 Cor 12 and 2 Cor 3:18).

  4. Because of man's sinfulness by nature, thought and deed, he is separated from a holy and just God and is deserving of eternal punishment in hell. (Rom 3:10; 23, 5:12 and 6:23).

  5. Jesus Christ has paid the penalty for our sin by His death on the cross. God in His grace has charged the sin of man to Christ and credits the righteousness of Christ to all who receive Him as Lord and Saviour. (John 1:12, 2 Cor 5:21).

The only way for us to be saved from the power and guilt of sin, to enjoy friendship with God and escape eternal punishment is to acknowledge we are sinners, turn from our sin and believe in the finished work of Christ at Calvary. We are justified solely by the grace of God, through faith in Christ crucified and His resurrection. (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Rom 5:15, 10:9-10; 1 John 1:9).

It is incumbent upon every believer to be baptised by full immersion in water. (Acts 2:38, 8:36-38; Matt 3:15, 28:18; Rom 6:1-14).

  6. The church of Jesus Christ is made up of all believers across the world who accept His Lordship and as such constitute the Body of Christ (Matt 16:18; Rom 12:5-8; Eph 1:22-23, 2:19-22; Col 1:17-18, 24).

We are a community of worshippers called by God to be His witnesses and to be devoted to the apostle's teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (John 4:23; Acts 1:8, 2:42; 2 Cor 5:20, Eph 3:10).
