The Monday Club
If you are a senior citizen looking for the company of good friends and a variety of activities to pass the time, then you’ve found it – the Monday Club is for you!
We are a multi-racial group of seniors who meet in The Gospel Centre hall every Monday afternoon from 1.30 to 3pm.
We always start proceedings with snacks and refreshments – there’s nothing like a spot of afternoon tea to get things underway! And our activities include quizzes, interactive discussions, guest speakers, watching DVDs, games and seasonal parties. We also organise occasional outings such as boat trips on the River Lea and visits to parks,
gardens and the seaside (weather permitting!!) On a more spiritual note we have occasional Bible studies, sing hymns and songs and pray for and support one another. It’s a great opportunity to get out of the house, meet with other people and make new friends.
Whether you are from another denomination, another church or another faith, a warm welcome awaits you.
If this sounds like something that you could enjoy, please feel free to join us. The hall is attached to The Gospel Centre on the corner of Wightman Road and Raleigh Road, and we meet on Mondays from 1.30pm to 3pm.
