GOD'S END-TIME ARMY (part two)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
As I said last week, God is training up a "Super People" in these last days. Creation is longing and groaning for them to appear. These people are called the "Elijah Ministry" in Malachi 4, the "Manifestation of the Sons of God" in Romans 8 and the "Bride" in Revelation 19. It has taken the Lord 2000 years to develop this people, and they are hardly noticeable at present, as God is still putting them through extensive training, especially in the area of trusting Him to appear before the Great and Terrible Day of the Lord. Last week we looked at how King Saul failed in the area of trust by leaning upon his own understanding and it cost him the throne. We too need to trust God when we have a lot of loose ends in our lives. When we don't know what to do, we can end up doing any of these four things.
1. Trust 2. Worry 3. Try to figure it all out. 4. Rush about doing everything.
God isn't always in a hurry to fix things up and doesn't always give us the answers we want immediately. We need to learn to live with loose ends. We need to learn to trust God in the storms of life anyway. When there is growth we need to be at peace with the mess that can accompany it.
These Super People are a people of great faith, but it's more than that. We all want to be a people of faith, but let us not forget that it's possible to have faith and do miracles and yet not be pleasing to God, and that's because we need to have love. Look at 1 Corinthians 13. It's all about the need for love. Faith works by love, and love is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit. This is love for God and His Body the Church. When love is flowing through our veins we will love the rest of the Body, the Church (which is our body) too. When we do this we are in harmony with our Supreme Head (Christ).
Ask yourself:
Does any part of your body hate any another part?
Does your left hand attack your right hand?
This is what can happen in the Body of Christ. Many are disqualified from being God's Supermen because they are critical of the Body of Christ, which is their own Body. This is not love. We are to love the Body of Christ as we would our own wife. The bible says she is also part of your body. When you bless your wife you are also blessing yourself.Jesus doesn't always do things exactly according to the law code as we see it. He judges each circumstance differently.
Look again at the woman caught in adultery. The Pharisees wanted her stoned to death as they were judging her by the law code. We must be careful how we judge the Body of Christ and not be like those Pharisees who wanted blood. Jesus was different and wanted to show mercy, and this over-ruled justice. We may only see things according to the law or outward circumstances instead of what the Father sees should be done.
Remember how patient God was with you, when you were in sin. God wants you to treat others with this same patience too.
We often have one standard for ourselves and another standard for other people, which is a form of deception.
We can end up being very impatient in this "Instant Age". We may think things aren't being done fast enough by God and take things into our own hands. Remember King Saul. God doesn't always move with haste, as it says in Isaiah 28:16 (KJV)Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a
Precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not make haste.I have personally learned that the best way to function in the Body of Christ is to try and only do what the Father is doing. When I first became a pastor I visited all the people in the Church till I was blue in the face and after awhile I decided that I didn't want to be a pastor anymore. I was worn out and the harder I tried the worse it got.
I soon learned that I needed to rest in God more, and that my ministry to Him was just as valid or even more so, than my ministry to men. As I spent more time with Him I began to see what the Father was doing and God arranged my appointments. This is how the Church grew. Some folk wanted me to respond to their moods and hissy fits which is a form of manipulation. I don't do that now. I try to respond to the prompting of the Spirit. If you have a problem come to me. Don't sulk to get me to respond. Some people get sick and don't tell me they are sick. Then they get angry because I don't turn up. I'm not telepathic. The word says. "Is any sick among you, let THEM call for the elders of the church." (James 5:14) If you are having a problem, call for the pastors or elders yourself. Don't expect them to be always ringing you up and checking on you to see how you are. I am not sitting around twiddling my thumbs waiting for someone to ring, I get on with the work at hand.
What you see in the services and among the people is just the tip of the iceberg. There are heaps of things that go on in behind the scenes in the, "The Secret Place with God."To be effective in this age you really need to be those who trust in the Lord with all your heart and don't lean upon your own understanding. There are so many needs out there, so many cries for help. So many demands made. "Which ones are from God?"
In all of it we need to know what the Father is doing, otherwise we'll soon be worn out. Look at the man at the gate "Beautiful". He had been asking for alms at this gate all his life. Jesus had walked past this same gate nearly everyday, yet He didn't heal him. After Jesus' death, two of the Disciples walked by and were asked for alms by this cripple. Peter said "Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have, do I give unto you...arise and walk." It was the privilege of these disciples to heal this man. I'm sure Jesus would have wanted to save the world for the 30 odd years before He was baptised in the Holy Spirit. But He waited on the Father and only did what he saw Him doing. He learned patience. He learned to trust in God His Father.
When you enter into this state of trust, you hand over the building of the Church to God. He said, " I'll build MY Church and the forces of Hell will not prevail against it."
HE'LL build HIS CHURCH. We need to ask Him how He is building it. What He is more concerned about are you having a relationship with Him first, and when you do, you'll find the building of HIS CHURCH a lot easier.
