GOD'S END-TIME ARMY (part one)

Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (kjv)

God is looking for a "Super People" in these last days. The earth is longing to see them. Creation is groaning for them. These people are called the "Elijah Ministry" in Malachi 4, the "Manifestation of the Sons of God" in Romans 8 and the "Bride" in Revelation 19. It has taken the Lord 2000 years to develop this people, and they are hardly noticeable at present, as God is still putting them through extensive training. Power is going to be given them so they need tough training to be able to handle it. Some have already pulled out, some have been disqualified and some have just settled for 2nd best.

* When I was in army training, the higher powers were watching everyone to see who had it in them for greater things. I noticed some guys running around with bricks in their packs. What is this I asked? I was told that these were those who had been chosen for leadership, and things were harder for them in training. The more responsibility you have the more is required of you!

This End Time People need not be super fit like those soldiers were. In fact some may be in Wheel Chairs. They need not be handsome, clever, or under 30. All that is required of this people, is that they be available, obedient and that they love God and they love His Body (The Church).
These people may not know their bible from end to end either or have gone to Bible College. They may never have been used in healing or preached from the pulpit, but never the less they are being trained by the Holy Spirit.
Look at Elisha, he was a servant for Elijah the Prophet. He washed Elijah's clothes and cooked his meals for years. It can't have been easy to work for a man like Elijah, who had been single for so long. He must have been set in his ways. It was hard for Elisha to be trained as a Prophet. Soon his day came and Elijah gave Elisha the blessing. One minute he had never performed a miracle, and the next he was parting the Jordan River with his mantle. When the time was right he received the mantle of Elijah and did twice as many miracles as Elijah had. So will it be for God's chosen People. It will suddenlyl happen when the time is right.

Look at 1 Samuel 15:11- 23
Samuel gave King Saul specific instructions. It was a test in which he failed. Because of this he lost out on being the King. Lost his authority. Other examples of men who had blown it were Esau, who loved his belly more than God's blessing, and Reuben who slept with his father's concubine and missed out on the 1st Born Blessing

Unfortunately some feel they are on the right track of obedience, when in fact they are bound by legalism. This is not what God wants, for where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty, not bondage. They cling to the letter of the law and fail God's exam.
Look at the story of the woman caught in adultery. The law says that she must be "Stoned" and technically this is true, but Jesus operated differently. He saw what His Father was doing, and was obedient to His instructions of compassion. The Mercy of God triumphed over Judgment. Legalists can't be on God's Team as they have put God in a box. Many of us want to put God in a box too, and to have things all neatly wrapped up. Many want there to be just one rule to live by. That makes it so much easier, to keep things simple. It's something that can be easily learned, by just asking anyone in the Church. "What is the will of God? Once I know it, then I won't have to look any further." "How should I be living?" If there were a way like this then you wouldn't have to have a personal relationship with God anymore. All you'd have to do is do this one simple thing.
Look at this example in Giving.
In the Old Testament we see Jacob (Genesis 28:22) who said he'd give God a tenth of his earnings if God brought him back home again. Isn't that clear enough as to what we should be giving? But look in the New Testament. Zaccheus said he'd give half of what he had away for God. He wasn't being bound by the ten percent. Look at the Rich Young Ruler in Luke 18:18-25. He was asked to give everything away. He wasn't asked to just give a tenth. You see God looks at every situation differently. He looks at the heart of each person. You can't put Him in a box. We would like there to be just one formula that we could all follow, but we need to see what the Father is doing. He wants us to ask Him what we should do. You may be asked to do all of these things in your walk with God over the years and not just the giving of 10 percent.

These "Super People" are under the control of the Holy Spirit, they are not leaning on their own understanding. They are leaning instead, on Jesus. He is their King. They are not leaning on parts of Him either, as so many do. "Tongues is the answer. That's all we need to do to have victory." "No it's Bible reading." "Worship on a certain day is the answer." "Look to this religious person." There is no one thing. If you are under the control of the Holy Spirit, then God will smash down anything that we end up putting our trust in besides Him. He wants us to completely trust in Jesus.

*We need to be obedient to the Lord and not the Law. If God tells us to put something down then we need to do it. At one stage God wanted my full attention, and wanted me to give up everything in order that I hear His voice right. I loved squash at this time, and felt Him say to me that I needed to stop playing squash and spend more time in the word and prayer. He didn't even say that I could play it again one day. A few years later I felt Him say to me that I could start playing squash again. He wanted me to give Him my full attention over a period of time as part of my training. When I learnt the lesson I could go back to doing what I had before. To do this kind of thing I needed to learn to not lean on my own understanding. It didn't make sense at the time.

God wants you to put your trust totally in Him. King Saul needed to trust God in his situation and listen to Samuel, but failed by leaning upon his own understanding, which cost him the throne. The trouble is we humans would like to slot everything into a pigeonhole, all nice and neatly. We'd like to find a place for everything. We'd like everything to make sense. We don't like unanswered questions.
