The law of recognition
"God gives us the treasures of darkness and secret things in hidden places."
Isaiah 45:3.
All that we ever need or want in God is already in your life - it's merely just waiting for our recognition. All that's unrecognised in our lives becomes unappreciated, and anything that's unappreciated becomes unrewarded, and anything that's unrewarded will eventually leave our lives.
Just apply this to marriages and you'll get what I mean.
Here is an amazing story from one of a Bob Gass daily reading. During the great California gold rush days, a young couple became totally obsessed with the pursuit of gold. They sold their farm and everything they owned and went out west to search for it. Failure after failure, they eventually ended up bankrupt and went to Europe. After many years, they came back home to America and decided to visit their old farm. But when they arrived they found it surrounded by security guards and a high-wire fence. That day they discovered that under their farmhouse was the second largest gold reserve in America - and the government now owned it.
Did you realise that God has put something close to you that you are not seeing! Some of the biggest gifts in your life are yet to be recognised, and your failure to recognise them is will cost you dearly.
Paul wrote to the Ephesian church saying, "I pray also that the eyes of your heart might be enlightened..." (Ephesians 1:18 NIV).
David cried, "Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law" (Ps 119:18 NIV).
There are areas of potential in your life that you will never see unless God reveals them to you. And He will, if you'll take the time today to seek His face.
For many Christians they are waiting and waiting. Waiting for something to happen for them one day. They think that maybe a famous Preacher will come to town one day and pray for them and then their lives will change. Maybe an angel will arrive at their bedside one night and touch them and they'll never be the same again. Maybe Revival will come to our City and then we'll really get on for God. It's all a wait and see game, but nothing is being done now. The days go by, the weeks go by, the years go by and still we are the same.
Did you not know that right now, this very day you could be changed if you just spent some time with God and asked Him to show you what you have already? For a start you already have Christ in you if you are a Christian. Have you appreciated this marvellous truth?
One of the biggest changes that ever took place in my life was from a thought that God dropped into my mind while filling my car with petrol in Waitara New Zealand. No one was praying for me. No famous preacher was in town. I wasn't on a 40 day fast either. God spoke to me and I believed His words. I recognised it as a word from God and appreciated what He said. I then hid the words in my heart, meditated on them and put them into practice. This revelation has grown since then and has not left me.
Instead of waiting for that big day to come in the sweet by and by. Ask God to speak to you now. It will be a still small voice, which you may at first think is just you. Begin to believe God and you'll start changing today. You'll not change overnight, but here a little, there a little, you'll change.
Instead of sitting in the service each week waiting for something to happen, and moaning about all those who are holding you back, begin to say. "Lord open my eyes to hear wonderful things in your word," and start sowing to Him in worship instead of just sitting there giving him and the preacher a deadpan look.
Also look at a Hagar when she was thrown out of Abraham's house with Ishmael. She took her child into the desert and thought they were both going to die of thirst. The Angel opened her eyes to see a well that was right next to her all the time and they lived. Genesis 21:14-21
