The exceeding greatness of His power. (part three)

One thing that Men of God did that always amazes us humans is the ability to raise someone from the dead. Its an area that is beyond us. We don't want to even go there for to many it brings back bad memories.
The only time I have heard of it happening in recent times to anyone close to me was in the Church in Zimbabwe.
There was a man called Hogan who has apparently been used by God in Mexico to raise people from the dead but while in town I never saw anything happen and the Pastors wife was dying and did etc.
The classic example of it happening in the Old Testament was with Elijah and in the New Testament was Lazarus.

Recently I have been aware of verses about this and have been meditating on it. The Bible says that everyone is "Dead in trespasses and sins". Without Jesus in your life you may be walking around, thinking, speaking, loving and procreating but you are dead. Your sins have made you a dead man. You are dead in trespasses and sins. What this means is that your spirit is dead to God. Your body may be alive, and your mind sparking but there is no God contact. In God's eyes, that's as good as dead. I was dead once. I didn't know it, but knew something was wrong.

Romans 8 tells us that if the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead has moved into your life He will quicken your mortal body too. What does that mean. Does it mean you will do miracles? It is possible but the Message translation puts it plainerer. Shall bring you alive to Him. One thing I found about the baptism in the Holy Spirit was how God seemed so much more real to me and as the years have gone by He has got better. He hasn't got any stronger, it's me that has slowly become more aware of Him. I have been brought alive to God.

Its like a person that had been paralyzed in an accident and was unable to use his arm, but through time and exercise he slowly has feeling come back and soon his fingers twitch then his wrist and soon he is able to feel etc.
This is how it is with us once the Spirit has moved in. He brings you alive to God.
We are damaged goods. Damaged by the effects of sin and unbelief. It takes time to fix it up.

Only took a night to come out of Egypt but it took 40 years to get Egypt out of Israel.

God is raising up an army. The Valley of Dry Bones

We need help from others to unravel the grave clothes

We need to Prophet to breathe life into our nostrils.
